Surgeries

We are well equipped to perform all routine surgeries for your pet. We also perform a wide range of non-routine type surgeries and if needed can provide a referral to an appropriate specialist. Prior to anesthesia, we will obtain a complete history and perform a detailed physical exam on your pet. While a history and physical exam provide us with important information about your pet's health, it is impossible to understand the complete physiological picture without performing other tests.

To ensure that your pet has a safe experience we will:

Perform pre-anesthetic blood tests for all pets. Geriatric patients require more extensive blood work.
Give pre-op sedation to minimize anxiety
Electronically monitor pulse and blood oxygen levels throughout the procedure.
Use Isoflurane inhalation (not metabolized by the liver and kidneys, ensuring a quick recovery from its effects).
Give post-op pain medication as needed.
